    The information contained within this alert is based on a high number of reports recently received by Action Fraud. The purpose of this alert is to increase awareness of this campaign currently in circulation. The campaign’s key target appears to be businesses in the United Kingdom. Its primary function appears to be distributing Banking Trojan malware, through a malicious link embedded within the email.

    The alert is aimed at businesses, members of the public as well as government and public organisations.

    Action Fraud have received a high number of reports concerning a phishing campaign targeting personal and business email addresses with the subject heading ‘Crime Prevention Advice’, with the intention of distributing malware. Please see the attached alert for more information, and an example of the content of the phishing email.

    Fraudsters are sending out a high number of phishing emails to personal and business email addresses pretending to come from ‘donotreply’ followed by the victims’ own email extension. These emails frequently contain attachments with password stealing components and/or ransomware.
