    The Home Office has invited the Law Commission to conduct a review to identify and address pressing problems with the law governing search warrants and to produce reform which will clarify and rationalise the law. A consultation period will run until 5 September 2018.

    The government fought off efforts in the House of Lords to remove the new compensation tariff for whiplash injuries, although it has agreed  the Lord Chancellor should consult the Lord Chief Justice when setting it, in one of a series of relatively minor concessions.
